How do I book a class?


It's super easy! You can either book your classes online by clicking here. Or by downloading the Studiobookings mobile app in the app store or play store on your apple or android phone and apple watch




How do I know which class is right for me?


At Yoga Kala we want to prove to the world that yoga is for EveryBODY, no matter your level of experience, fitness, body shape, age, injuries etc. As all classes are inclusive you're welcome to try any, however you may find that one is more suitable than another. The best way to find out what class is right for you is to take our ' what's your yoga personality quiz' or to take a look at our class descriptions here.




How early should I arrive for class?


We recommend arriving 5 to 10 minutes before class to set up your mat, talk with the teacher about any injuries or concerns you may have and prepare yourself for practice. If you are more than 10 minutes early please wait quietly outside in case there is still a class finishing up. Once the 'Class in Progress' sign is on the door please do not ring the door bell or announce your arrival, this will disturb the teacher and other students. Quietly take an available spot and join the class. However please try to arrive on time.




What do I wear and what do I need to bring?


Wear clothing that will be comfortable, breathable and allow you to move freely. Please bring your yoga mat, towel and water bottle to every class. Yoga mats can be hired for $2 if you do not have one. All other props will be supplied unless specified. We also supply herbal tea for all classes.




What if I'm pregnant, can I still practice?


Ah, yes, a question with many answers. It is really up to you and the team looking after your prenatal health. Our reccommendation is that if you have recently become pregnant and have never practiced yoga before to discuss this with your treating team and if all is well Prenatal or Mindful Restorative will be the most appropriate class for you. If you need a little more movement than a restorative class and have good fitness then Prenatal or FUNdamentals yoga would be more suitable. If you have a regular yoga practice then any class including vinyasa can be attended. PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU NOTIFY YOUR TEACHER IF YOU ARE PREGNANT SO THAT MODIFICATIONS CAN BE OFFERED. PLEASE LISTEN TO YOUR BODY AND YOUR GUT, IF SOMETHING ISN'T RIGHT FOR YOU THEN PLEASE STOP AND TAKE REST.




What if I'm injured, can I still practice?


Please ensure that you consult with your treating healthcare team. If you have a fresh injury and it has not been seen to then you will need to be seen by a doctor before practicing. Some injuries can be relieved with yoga, however some can be exacerbated so it is important to get the advice of a health professional. If yoga has been reccommended as part of your healing it might be in your best interest to book a private session to find the right postures and movements to facilitate healing, here we can create a personalised program to get you feeling good again. Otherwise mindful restorative could be helpful (dependednt on the injury, best to discuss this with Katie prior to booking) or FUNdamentals (again best to discuss this with Katie prior to booking). Your health is of great importance so please treat your body with great care.




Can my child come to class?


Children over the age of 10 are welcome to practice, provided that they are able to take instruction and will not disrupt the rest of the class. They will still need to be booked in and accompanied by an adult who is also practicing. We do not have the facilities for babysitting and children are not permitted to be left outside the classroom unattended. If your teen is looking to start yoga we do offer yoga in schools, please feel free to suggest our program to your child's school.




Do you offer corporate yoga or yoga in the workplace?

Do you offer private group sessions?


Depending on your needs yes. We have previously tailored private group classes on location at nearby Airbnbs and have run programs and workshops for small groups like bridal parties. Contact Katie on 0433297604 or via email yogakalaau@gmail.com to discuss your groups needs.

Yes we do, please see our prices tab for all memberships, passes and offers




My membership includes 'Bring a friend for free' do they just show up?


Some membership options offer 'Bring a friend for free', here's how it works. 1. Your friend must never have practiced at Yoga Kala before 2. Email Katie with your friend's Full name and email address, we will reply to let you know if there is space available and your friend has been booked or if they will be on the waiting list. 3. Ask your friend to fill in our New student form 4. If you or your friend has any questions, is injured or pregnant please email or call Katie as soon as possible. 5. You and your friend show up to class and become yoga buddies.

What if I have to cancel a class?


For cancellations please log into your account and cancel the session.
If it is less than 6 hours before a group class you can still cancel however you will lose a class of your pass.
Cancellations with less than 6 hours notice will result in the full fee being charged. An alternative class booking may be offered for the same week if available. Please note that you will be marked as 'no show', regularly cancelling classes at the last minute is unfair to other students especially when this means that we have to cancel the class due to low numbers. Sometimes classes have a waiting list, if enough time is given and you cancel through your account then the first person on the waiting list will have the opportunity to book in first. Classes with only one person will be cancelled and are at risk of being removed from the timetable. To avoid classes being cancelled, grab a yoga buddy and keep eachother accountable.




What if I have to cancel a private lesson


For cancellations please log into your account and cancel the session.
Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will result in full fee charged. At owners discretion an alternative appointment time may be arranged for the same week if available.
Please note that if cancelling with less than 24 hours notice a 'no show' will be applied to your booking and future bookings may not be accepted.




What's the minimum number of students required for group classes?


The simple answer is 2.
If a class is cancelled due to low numbers it is because there was only one student booked in or other students have cancelled. While we make every effort for this not to happen, it is not feesable to run a class for one student. If you would like to book a private lesson in place of the group class that has been cancelled this can be done for an additional fee depending on your membership/class pass type.

Can I get a refund?


Sorry, we have a no refunds policy as per the New Student registration for that you signed.
However, please get in contact with us as there may be something that we can do.
If for example you're on a 12 month membership we can put your account on hold for up to 12 weeks in a year with a 2 week minimum.




My 12 month membership is due to expire soon, do I need to sign up to another 12 months?


Once your 12 month contract is up, there's nothing you need to do, your membership will continue on the current rate you're paying until you decide to cancel.




Can I cancel my 12 month membership?


If you would like to cancel your 12 month membership you will be required to pay out the rest of the membership much like 12 month memberships at other places. However, please get in contact with us as there may be something that we can do.If for example you're on a 12 month membership we can put your account on hold for up to 12 weeks in a year with a 2 week minimum. If 12 months have passed you can cancel your membership at any time by writing to us at yogakalaau@gmail.com and giving us 30 days notice so that we can proces this with Studiobookings.
